There’s a great documentary on this subject and the possibility of atmospheric oxygen called Total Recall. This ex California governor even cameod in it to show his support.

Marswater is nasty! I wouldn’t even wash my car with marswater. I don’t care what kind of stupid dead organisms are living in it! Mars is trash

Unless they would find the magic button that will turn on the magnetosphere it hardly makes any sense for us for how long life was supported there.
