Romania’s Ministry of Defense surveillance systems on Tuesday evening detected drone signals near the national airspace in the northern part of Tulcea County.
According to available data, the target was detected approximately 20 kilometers north of the town of Vilkove.
In this context, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations at 19:17 activated the RO-ALERT system to inform residents in the northern part of Tulcea County.
To monitor the situation, two Romanian Air Force F-16 fighter jets took off from the 86th Air Base in Fetesti at 19:22.
It is also known that previously Romania had scrambled fighters due to drones in the airspace.
