Would you consider these stats (Poland) to be accurate? I feel like it might be some sort of a statistical trickery/lie. I have never in my life seen a single Polish person in my personal life who supports Israel in any capacity. Even the 16% feels like too much for what it is.

  1. I think the exact opposite; 16% seems not enough but I think it’s fairly accurate at the moment – the whole Gaza “thing” definitely did not help.

  2. podlaski-dzikus on

I have a polish colleague who is also a Jew. He probably thinks positive about Israel, however I never asked.

  3. LongestDachshund on

You would be surprised how many Poles actually support Israel. Or at least are on „they can defend themselves” side.

  4. No Idea, I think that:
    1. I think a lot of people don’t give a fuck.
    2. In europe rn right wing parties are pretty islamophobic, a lot of the times they are also anti-semitic but there probably is a person that hates muslims much more than jews out there.
    3. Look for the test sample. Test samples are pretty important, because small test samples and niche testing methods tend to give weird results.

  5. Well, you, as all of us, live in you personal bubble.

16% is one of the LOWEST results! In the table.

And Poland is a country that have no actual current relations with Israel – good or bad.
Therefore in essence 14% is just the reflection of base societal variability.

  6. Seems legit to me. It’s not like you talk about politics with every single person you meet, right? (RIGHT!?). Also being surrounded by people with similar beliefs is nothing special, it’s a psychological bias to think that just because you don’t meet people like that that they must be virtually nonexistent. I recommend SciFun’s youtube film “Krótki film o prawdzie i fałszu”, it was eye opening for me.

Sorry, but in all my life I never heard ANY comment about Israel as well as the Polish-Jewish community from ANY SINGLE POLISH PERSON. NOTHING. I guess they are working and busy enough with life unlike others.

The most I heard about this topic was from foreign news outlets (hello germany).

Up until the last war with Palestinian women and children I supported Israel 100% even though they generally don’t like Poles and often repeat untrue claims about our participation in Holocaust and WW II.

  9. BitsOfReality on

Many of them are right-wing Trump glazers, so they support whatever he supports.

  10. SkruszonyBankster on

I am ashamed that the numbers aren’t reversed. There are so many reasons Polish people should be supporting Jews and Israel.

It is from last year. I do not remeber when they started “liberation” of Gaza.
But rather more than 16% of people in Poland has/had favourable opinion about Israel. You know, they have some advanced products (mainly military things), efficient army and even our army use some equipment from Israel.

  12. mariquita1125 on

Not accurate at all. Who did they pay off in Nigeria? The numbers for the United States are off, too. The MAGA Trump voter feel back-stabbed are 90% against the war in Iran and Gaza, especially with top right figures like Tucker Carlson, Nick Fuentes, Candace Owens and Megyn Kelly being against the war.

  13. > I have never in my life seen a single Polish person in my personal life who ….

You know, there’s some 37 million of us…

  14. GarlicSphere on

Many Poles don’t give a fuck and some despise Hamas even more than Israel. I can see why stats are the way they are.

  15. _lonegamedev on

I would say vast majority doesn’t care at all. I would agree if this was “social media” bias.

  16. This is from 1 year ago – seams accurate, probably much lower now, a few war crimes later

  17. Glittering-Ad8503 on

yeah, mostly fucktards who scream “Polska dla Polaków” are supporting jews.. I guess nazis will always support nazis..

  18. Parking_Lemon_4371 on

It’s roughly a year old data, pretty sure it’s gone down even further since then.

Support for Israel (& Jews) in Poland was definitely higher pre-Gaza.

The ‘war’ began on October 7, 2023 — and likely initially increased support [at least at the beginning] due to Israel being the ‘wronged’ side (kidnappings) – they just went *way* overkill, but that only happened / became obvious much later.

Furthermore, I think people are only now slowly starting to realize that Israel != Jews — there’s high overlap, but it’s not an equivalence. You can be anti-Israel, without being anti-Jew.

  19. It looks about right. My grandparents are pro-israel, they have always been brainwashed into all this “muslims are going to replace christians” propaganda, I guess that’s connected. They are the only ones I know

  20. i only support getting rid of hamas and palestine. also – if the attacks on iran came when people were fighting the military in the streets it could have been a game changer for the people of iran. now it’s a pointless war.

  21. 14% of the 16% positive is the “Somewhat favorable”. It’s closer to a neutral viewpoint with positive leaning.

Edit – The data was also collected between January-April 2025, long before the recent events.

  22. Last-Run-2118 on

Logically the support for Israel should be higher.

after all, Israel is not a threat to the average Polish citizen, and Islam is

  23. In Poland, there are pro-American people who support Israel and its actions, and there are many YouTubers who even do it niche ones, but they do it. For example, Michał Waliszewski

I personally believe this data is accurate.

    Sam znam takich.

  25. Enough_Ad5892 on

The person making that interviewed people to get these stats went to the Jewish area of a city

  26. It makes sense. You won’t find an active, hardcore zionist because neo-nazism is generally frowned-upon in Poland, but you’re probably unlikely to find hardcore anti-zionists.

  27. Whoknowsknows1962 on

28,000 people from 24 countries, so slightly over 1,000 people per country. Meaningless poll. You could make the same poll based on how you feel people in other countries feel about Israel, and it would be as accurate as this poll.

  28. Mission-Shape-4895 on

I always wondered why Israel is unpopular in Poland. The left and even the far right (Mentzen and Braun) are against Israel which is unusual because right wingers in other european countries are normally pro Israel. Germany for example is much 1000 times more pro Israel than Poland. In GER there are even pro Israel Antifa and Leftists. You don’t see that in other countries.

  29. My parents and extended family are supporters of Israel. Their friends also support Israel, so I can imagine how long that chain of support goes for…

    Wouldn’t say it’s *entirely* inaccurate.

  30. RemarkableAd4069 on

Conveniently not included Ireland where majority supports recognition of Israeli occupation and genocide. Wouldn’t look good on the graph.
