In a historic move, Malta’s Eurovision 2026 star AIDAN is touring Australia in the build up to Vienna.

He announced the shows on Instagram account saying:

“Oi! Oi! Oi! I’m beyond proud to officially take my music to Australia, becoming the first Eurovision artist to ever do this.”

He is indeed the first artist to travel from Europe to Australia to promote the entry from a competing year.

His two announced shows will be:

  • Friday 27th March: Maltese Community Council of Victoria, Parkville, Melbourne

  • Saturday 28th March: La Valette Social Club, Blacktown, Sydney

It has also been reported that he is performing at the OGAE Australia parties in those cities.

The shows are being held by Viva Malta Events who stated:

“Eurovision 2026 representative, AIDAN, is coming to Australia for exclusive FREE meet & greet appearances in Melbourne and Sydney.

Join us for a special night with one of Malta’s biggest local stars, performing live and connecting with fans in an intimate setting.

This is a rare opportunity to experience AIDAN up close, meet the artist, and be part of a memorable night with the Maltese community.”

The show is free entry — no tickets required. The event promoter says to arrive early as capacity is limited and entry will be on a first come, first served basis.

AIDAN is representing Malta with Bella and will perform in semi-final 2, the same show as Australia.

There were almost 200,000 Australians with Maltese descent in the 2021 census. This is the highest amount of any country outside Malta itself.

Australia and Malta have shared votes with each other over the years, so this could be a strong move in hopes of qualifying for the Grand Final.
