Anything to distract from the ongoing corruption probes.
Or the sexual misconduct scandals, politicization of the judiciary, the failures to manage crumbling public services and infrastructure that plague his administration.

Easy to be anti-war from your corrupt and sheltered gated Iberian community behind multiple layers of meatshields.

This article talks about how Spain is gaining support within the EU for Sánchez’s anti-war stance. It explains how other countries are aligning with this position.

Same same Pedro Sánchez who uses its position in the EU to prevent a wider EU response to the Houthis attacking shipping in the Red Sea?

While correct from the moral standpoint, and while it’s true that this isn’t Europe’s war, it isn’t necessarily the smartest strategy long-term. Russia is by far the biggest threat to Europe, not Iran. However, for decades US was playing the role of Europe’s guardian and I don’t think EU can afford losing that at a dawn of what now seems to be an unavoidable global conflict. EU was always an economic powerhouse, not military, but even its economy eroded now only contributing to only 14% of global economy comparing to over 23% only two decades ago. Europe can’t survive a large war without the backing of the US and that’s a fact from the security standpoint. Whether you like Trump or not, you don’t want to go against him at the moment.

EU members were against the war before Sanchez made his statement. Some EU members are still allowing their US bases to be used for the war effort more than Spain does.
This seems to be more of a glazing piece than actually proving Spanish influence to me. Interests of similar nations correlating does not mean that one of them dominates decisions. It fits that its based basically just on a Spanish minister advertising his own government in an interview.

Spain says no to war, clearly and unequivocally. That gives me hope and pride.
Standing on the side of international law, peace and diplomacy today is brave and it represents the will of the people, it is very simply the right thing to do.
France also has scandals and they welcome American planes involved in the operation
UK also has scandals and they welcome American planes involved in the operation
Germany I don’t about scandals but they welcome American planes involved in the operation
Europe has to stand for peace, diplomacy and respect of international law.
