Even their excuse for forcing people to paid plans with this is flimsy.
As if the “convenience” of just saving the project without the media files is really a worthwhile reason to force cloud saving.

Out of all the horrible and frustrating changes and software Microsoft forces down our throats, I seriously think OneDrive is the worst by far.
Forcing desktop/document directories into OneDrive by default or whatever the fuck it does has caused me more headaches helping fix family members computers than anything else Microsoft has done in the last 20+ years.
I got rid of the app after it was installed in my laptop without my knowledge or permission. I stopped using the cloud service after it started to nag me to buy a subscription.

I fucking hate that and I will not use it.

You can still just open in the Photos app and use trim for simple clips that don’t need editing.

That means it ain’t free. They’re getting some sort of kick back from Msft to force the hosting. And then Msft, through their business agreements, scrapes all your shit and uses it as training data.

Microsoft seems very intent on pushing people away from their ecosystem, and it’s honestly just baffling.

I ditched Windows the moment it started forcing me to login into my Microslop account and trying to shove OneDrive and Copilot down my throat. It feels good to not have your os THAT YOU’VE ALREADY PAID FOR try to upsell you into their bullshit cloud services every fucking day.

Ok that’s gross, I had finally switched to it after using the old photos legacy app to edit and post some streaming clips on my YouTube
It’s just stuff I do for fun so I don’t want to pay for any software. I could certainly find a good free alternative but like why does Microsoft need to make everything a pain in the ass

Now I don’t require Clipchamp anymore.

And to think that once upon a time Windows used to be able to process videos natively.
It could even open and edit RTF’s natively with the now removed WordPad.
It’s pure enshitification to force people to use other more expensive services. The fact they are happy to destroy their own operating system to do this seems to be a recent disturbing trend.

This is making me worried about what other programs they will do this with down the road. Will you wake up one morning and be unable to open documents or other files, or work locally, because the associated apps you use suddenly require OneDrive?

Amazing. Now the only thing missing is Copilot. Thanks Microslop.
Clipchamp actually used to be pretty decent for quickly editing short vids. Leave to MS to casually turn everything into shit.

Just noticed this a couple hours ago while trying to do a simple video crop. It’s beyond annoying.
OneDrive is not going to happen. Stop trying to pull this Microsoft.

Absolutely not. Back to [Shotcut](https://www.shotcut.org/) it is, I guess!
Just serves as a reminder that [Davinci Resolve](https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve) is still a thing and still free.

No thanks. I’d rather use literally [ANY of the open source alternatives that don’t come with spyware integrated into the program](https://alternativeto.net/software/clipchamp/?license=opensource&tag=no-tracking) witch will not only be FREE, but will also function just as well if not SIGNIFICANTLY better.
