Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, Donika Gërvalla, participated in the farewell lunch organized by the German Embassy, on the occasion of the end of the mandate of the Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Ambassador Aivo Orav.
The MFA’s announcement emphasizes that Gërvalla expressed her gratitude for the sustained commitment and substantial role of Ambassador Orav in advancing relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the European Union, describing him as a valuable friend of the Republic of Kosovo.
She appreciated his principled approach, open dialogue and direct inter-institutional cooperation, which have contributed to deepening trust and advancing processes of strategic importance.
“Meetings with him were always fruitful and direct, because he deeply understood Kosovo and contributed to finding the best solutions for advancing strategic processes and key reforms,” said the minister, particularly appreciating his contribution in supporting structural reforms, strengthening the rule of law, and clearly articulating Kosovo’s European perspective at key moments for the country.
Furthermore, it is reported that Gërvalla wished him success in his future commitments, thanking him for the dedication and professionalism demonstrated during his mandate in Kosovo since September 1, 2024, as well as for his measurable contribution in support of the country’s European agenda.
“Ambassador Orav is leaving Kosovo and his official duty as a diplomat, but he will always remain a true and very valuable friend of Kosovo. Thank you, Ambassador Orav!”, she said.
