According to a criminal complaint filed with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama, Alukic allegedly attacked groups of Serbian civilians on two separate occasions with other members of a Bosnian Muslim paramilitary group in 1992.

Members of the group entered the town of Kozarac to get food and supplies on Aug. 29, 1992. While there, Alukic allegedly suggested they ambush a car and kill the driver. The members then reportedly opened fire on the car, causing it to veer off the road into a ditch.

A member of the group then reportedly approached the car and fired more shots. They then allegedly set the car on fire with the driver’s body still in it.

According to the complaint, the group also planned to set fire to multiple homes in a nearby village and kill the occupants. It is alleged that Alukic suggested this, but another member contradicts this.

The members split into two groups, with Alukic allegedly leading one of the groups. He and the other men reportedly fired multiple shots at the home and then set it on fire. A woman and her daughter were able to crawl out of a window to escape.

A former cook who belonged to the same paramilitary group identified Alukic when questioned about his involvement in the crimes.

A treaty between the United States and Bosnia and Herzegovina allows for the arrest and extradition of Alukic to face his alleged crimes. He is currently in Mobile Metro Jail.
