Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov addressed the party’s supporters at the launch of its election campaign, in front of the Ivan Vazov National Theatre in Sofia on Saturday, saying, “For us, nothing is impossible. For a person with a free spirit who wants to live freely, there are no unattainable goals.”
According to Kostadinov, the party will campaign for a free and independent Bulgaria.
“We want our country to reclaim prosperity for its citizens. To achieve this, we must be an independent state that makes its own decisions,” Kostadinov said. “If we want to defend our positions, we sometimes have to say “no”, even to the world’s greatest hegemon. The only authority we must respect is the Bulgarian people,” he added. Kostadinov noted that Bulgaria needs leaders with “backbone” and said that the times we are living in are extremely turbulent.
The party called for a re-foundation of the state and presented its program.
“We have gathered to launch an unprecedented election campaign. This is a decisive year and a pivotal moment for Bulgaria,” MEP Rada Laykova, Europe of Sovereign Nations/Vazrazhdane, said.
Highlighting the causes they are fighting for, party MPs called for public support.
Long live the true Europe, Rene Aust, chair of Europe of Sovereign Nations group in the European Parliament, said, wishing Vazrazhdane’s supporters success in the campaign.
After the speeches, supporters marched through the streets of Sofia.
