A joint memorial altar has been set up at Daejeon City Hall to honor the 14 workers who died in a fire at a local auto parts factory.
The Daejeon Metropolitan Government said Sunday that the altar, located in the first‑floor lobby, will remain open through April 4 with visiting hours from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
Bereaved families visited the site on the first day to pay their respects.
With all victims now recovered, authorities are preparing to launch a full‑scale investigation into the cause of the fire.
Police, fire officials, and the Labor Ministry are holding a safety meeting to coordinate inspection plans and preventive measures.
However, police said an on‑site forensic inspection may be delayed due to the high risk of structural collapse at the factory.
The fire broke out around 1:17 p.m. Friday at the auto parts plant, killing 14 people and injuring 60 others.
