The role of the institutions is to stand by everyone who works for Bulgaria, President Iliana Iotova said Sunday in her address to the students and administration of Plovdiv’s Chernorizets Hrabar Secondary School, where a concert was held to mark the Feast of the Annunciation of the Mother of God. “The role of the institutions is to always stand by everyone who works for Bulgaria, and you are working for Bulgaria,” Iotova said, as quoted by the head of State’s Press Secretariat.

Iotova expressed her gratitude to the school administration, teachers, and parents for instilling in children a love for the Bulgarian spirit, an understanding of what it means to be Bulgarian, and a love for their homeland. She also praised the dedication of the teaching staff in nurturing each child’s unique talents.

“If we forget our heritage, if we do not know our roots and history, we cannot shape or conquer the future,” the President said. Highlighting the importance of the Feast of the Annunciation of the Mother of God, she added: “Is there a better way to welcome spring than with good news, with hope and light in our hearts, and by honoring our rich Bulgarian traditions together?”

President Iotova urged everyone to seek greater understanding among themselves. “Let’s not rely only on miracles. We must create understanding, extend a hand to one another, and nurture hope and love between us,” she said. “Only in this way can we succeed, support our children, and give them the future they deserve,” Iotova added.
