  1. I’ve always been a dual citizen and between 2025 and early 2026, I actually made a point to get my SIN and Canada passport. Because if anything goes down, I want to be able to make it known that I’m eligible to work and all.

I don’t know how I feel about this.

We might want to think twice about inviting that flaming dumpster into our country.

Things are already too American influenced. They have a dangerous culture and we should be wary.

We said “No more reckless Indian immigration!” And so the monkeys paw curled and flooded us with a million random Americans instead.

  4. Awesome. They fucked up their own country now they wanna spread and do it to others.

  5. Pretty soon you’ll be able to get a Canadian citizenship as the toy in a box of Cracker Jacks.

    “more” “spiked” “exploded”

There’s no numbers or estimates or explanations of how this lawyer would define those words. Are we talking hundreds? Thousands? Millions? A 20% increase? A 100% increase?

  7. Hopefully if they move here they don’t have plans to be able to buy a house in the near future under the liberals and Gregor Robertson

  8. The republicans are trying to end dual citizenship, so even if these people go through all the hoops needed to prove ancestry they will at some point shortly have to make a choice. Either they move everything here and give up US citizenship, or they give up any claim to Canadian citizenship. So from an American standpoint it’s not really a big issue… other countries that have been using Canada for birth tourism, they’re more of an issue

This is a very good bill. In fact, when the Conservatives ended the unlimited and unconditional passing of Canadian citizenship to children born abroad via Bill C-37 in 2009, they should have made their bill resemble the Bill C-3 that we have now: unlimited but conditional.

The Americans that are interested in being Canadians tend to share a lot of the Canadian values. They also integrate a lot better than most other countries. On top of that these Americans have Canadian ancestry.

On top of that they often bring significant skillsets and wealth into the country.

Personally I don’t see a problem with it.
