The Brazilian national team suffered a significant loss ahead of their friendlies against France and Croatia: defender Gabriel Magalhães has been ruled out due to a right knee injury. The Arsenal center-back sustained the injury during the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City, which will prevent him from joining the squad under Carlo Ancelotti’s command.

The absence of the center-back adds to other complications for the Italian coach, who was already without Neymar and had previously lost Alisson Becker and Alex Sandro. Unlike those cases, this time he has decided not to call up any replacements.

Now Brazil will face their matches in the United States with a reduced defense, consisting of Marquinhos, Bremer, Léo Pereira, and Ibáñez. The tour will begin this Thursday against France in Boston and will continue the following Tuesday against Croatia in Orlando, in what will be the last tests before the final squad list for the 2026 World Cup.
