North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has repeatedly nailed South Korea as the “most hostile country,” emphasizing its irreversible will to possess nuclear weapons.

According to the Rodong Sinmun on the 24th, Chairman of the states Affairs Commission Kim made this position in his speech on the second day of the first session of the 15th Supreme People’s Assembly the day before.

In his speech, he emphasized, “We will recognize Korea as the most hostile country and deal with it thoroughly rejecting and ignoring it with the most obvious words and actions.” He then made a threatening remark, saying, “We will make South Korea pay the price for its actions touching our Republic (North Korea) without any consideration or minor hesitation.”

“The U.S. is now carrying out state terro (terrorism) and aggression all over the world,” Chairman of the states Affairs Commission Kim said. “Today’s world reality is that the dignity and rights of sovereign countries are trampled on by unilateral coercion and tyranny.”

At the same time, he refrained from losing his real name to U.S. President Donald Trump. The government evaluated Kim’s remarks as an extension of the existing stance toward South Korea. When asked about his position on Kim’s remarks at a meeting with reporters, an official from the Ministry of Unification replied, “I don’t think it’s a new story.” The government will make consistent efforts under the stance of developing inter-Korean relations into a “peaceful coexistence relationship aimed at unification,” the official said.

Meanwhile, Chairman Kim also announced his plan to reorganize the Social Security Army, a paramilitary organization in charge of security and border security, into a general national “police” organization. Earlier, on the first day of the Supreme People’s Assembly the day before, North Korea included social safety, which was a direct character of the existing State Council, in the cabinet organization, and showed its intention of normalizing its own without military colors.
