One of the students, then a second-year student, who was a perpetrator in a violence incident at Koryo High School's baseball club last January, filed a criminal complaint with the Hiroshima Prefectural Police on charges of defamation, alleging he was slandered through posts on social networking sites (SNS) by the victim's parents. According to the complaint, since July 23rd of last year, the victim's parents have posted on SNS that they were subjected to a group assault. Subsequently, the student's real name was revealed, severely damaging his social reputation and affecting his future career choices.

Can only say the student shouldn’t first have been in violence incident. Thinking that because of being a minor, violence is OK is not right. Such thoughts are causing minors to commit crimes thinking they can get away with it without getting their names released.
Ahhh Japan the country where you can sue the victim for saying you committed the crime be 100% correct but still get sued for saying it and get money
The parents of the victim should have reported this to the university, where the offenders are going to attend right before enrollment. This is a better way to retaliate in a country that has a strict(strange) defamation law, rather than ranting on social media.
I’ve heard that a couple of people have done it, and most of the offenders refused to enrol in the school/college.
That’s so fucked up
