From 30 March to 1 April, SANT Committee will hold a mission to Poland. The delegation will be composed of three Members: Adam JARUBAS (EPP), Bartosz ARŁUKOWICZ (EPP) and Vytenis ANDRIUKAITIS (S&D). During its visit the delegation will hold meetings with representatives of public authorities, pharmaceutical industry & representatives of patient organisations. It will also visit production and logistics centre of Adamed Pharma S.A in Pabianice, one of the major pharmaceutical companies in Poland.
The main focus of the SANT Committee delegation’s visit to Poland will be the implementation of the new pharmaceutical legislation (the “Pharmaceutical Package”), secure access to critical medicines (notably the currently negotiated “Critical Medicines Act”) and orphan medicines (addressed in the currently being prepared own initiative legislative report on “EU Rare Diseases Action Plan”). Members will discuss these topics with the Minister of Health, the Chair of the Health Committee of the Senate, several public authorities, and representatives of manufacturers. In addition, the scope of the discussion with patient organisations will be broadened to include issues of particular interest to Polish patients.
