DeForest-based Cascade Development presented revised plans Tuesday evening that include details of a four-story Marriott Towne Place Suites with up to 89 rooms.

The hotel would sit on part of the 11.6 acres between 4130 and 4160 Savannah Drive, just off State Highway 19 on the village’s south side. If approved, developers hope to start construction in mid-May and finish the project in August 2027.

While the area is across the street from apartments and nearby homes, city administrators say plenty of thought has gone into ensuring zoning works well in the area, including a nearby plot of land zoned for commercial.

“We ensured that there’d be a continuation, and I believe, as approved, that commercial lot is intended to be more residential-friendly in nature,” village administrator Bill Chang said. “Think something like an office or a daycare.”

The lots along Savannah Drive, currently empty, will also feature a 90,000-square-foot indoor soccer facility and a 96,000-square-foot sports-court facility. If approved, construction is expected to start by the end of August.
