In anticipation of the return of migratory birds and in preparation for the nesting season, the Latvian Ornithological Society (LOB) invites everyone to attend Bird Day events on April 11 and 12, which will take place in various locations across Latvia, the LOB announced.
Although most of the activities will take place on April 11 and 12, themed events will begin as early as March 28 in Cēsis and Rāzna National Park, and will continue on other dates in April until the end of the month.
LOB noted that those interested in participating in the events included in the program are encouraged to contact the organisers of the respective event in advance and register their participation, as space is limited.
The association reported that the program includes more than 40 events, including birdwatching expeditions and hikes, birdhouse workshops, a storytelling event, a sketching workshop, as well as other events exploring the world of birds for all ages.
A detailed Bird Days 2026 event calendar is available here, while a map of event locations, which is constantly updated with new activities, can be viewed here.
