After years of rebuilding, Montcalm County’s economy has reached a milestone few communities achieve: More people are working today than ever before. That was the message delivered during Wednesday’s Annual Economic Exchange event presented by the Montcalm Economic Alliance (MEA), where regional and local leaders pointed to new data showing the county’s workforce, housing development and economic activity have rebounded — and in some cases surpassed — levels seen before the loss of thousands of jobs two decades ago.
