The municipality of Pristina, after much debate, removed the signs of the exhibition “Massacres in Kosovo 1998-1999” from the main square of the capital. This decision was made due to inaccuracies contained in the exhibited materials regarding the massacres that occurred during the war in Kosovo.
The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, said that he suspended the permission granted for this activity to two associations, which were funded by the Parliament.
“This is unacceptable and constitutes a direct insult to the victims and all citizens of Kosovo. We demand political and institutional responsibility from the Assembly of Kosovo for approving and financing such scandalous content that defiles the dignity of citizens and insults the collective memory of our people.”
Survivor of the Dubrava massacre, Visar Ballovci, stated that they were not armed and that the event was also documented by international sources.
The Assembly of Kosovo, in a reaction, emphasized that the content and positions presented within the exhibition remain the responsibility of its authors and organizers and that it will address the concerns raised to them.
