The leadership of the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) will assist four Bulgarian nationals who have been stranded in Indonesia for several weeks to return home. The four have remained in Jakarta due to the military conflict in the Middle East, having missed flights and been unable to arrange logistics for their return.

After contacting the federation for help, BFU President Georgi Ivanov personally responded to their request. As a result, they will board the national team’s charter flight and return to Sofia with the national team.

The Bulgarian national team will play in the final of the FIFA Series 2026 tournament on Monday (March 30) at 4:00 p.m. Bulgarian time against hosts Indonesia. So far, the “Lions” have recorded a 10:2 win over the Solomon Islands, while Indonesia defeated Saint Kitts and Nevis 4:0.

Immediately after the match and the award ceremony, the Bulgarian delegation will depart on a direct flight to Sofia.
