Fibre made mandatory in new-build, renovated flats in Lithuania
A legal requirement to deploy fibre-optic telecommunications infrastructure in all renovated apartment buildings entered into force in Lithuania. The same requirement is valid for newly-built apartments. The national telecommunications regulator RRT confirmed the requirement, in line with the EU’s Gigabit Infrastructure Act, and called on the environment ministry to issue accompanying regulations for the building sector on installing the fibre ducts.
