Alarm bells rang out over the weekend after Vinicius was held out of training after picking up a slight knock against France. He returned on Sunday and is set to play against Croatia on Tuesday.
Vini knock just a scare
Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed the Brazilian winger will be available for his team’s final match of this international break after recovering from a minor injury. Both Vinicius and Marquinhos will be available for the Italian manager against Croatia, with the former Madrid boss stating, “They trained separately yesterday, but both are fine and tomorrow they will play.”
Vinicius picked up the knock in the match against France on Thursday, and missed one training session for precautionary measures. Any serious damage, as the injury was deemed to just be muscle fatigue.
Ancelotti did not confirm if Marquinhos or Vinicius would be in the starting XI in Monday’s press conference. “I won’t say tomorrow’s lineup because I haven’t spoken with the players. We’re going to make changes, but the system won’t change,” Ancelotti explained.
Raphina out at least four weeks
Vinicius wasn´t the only one to come out of the match against France worse for wear. Raphinha was dealt a more serious blow and had to return to Barcelona after picking a hamstring injury that will keep him out a minimum of four weeks.
It’s a crucial time of year for both Barcelona and Real Madrid who are in a two horse race in La Liga, and still alive in the Champions League. Barcelona currently have a four point lead on the capital city side, and there is a massive El Clasico to be played at the Camp Nou in May.
