This week, NEWS.MC TV brings you the latest developments from Monaco, where history, diplomacy, and innovation are all making headlines.

A remarkable chapter of the Principality’s past is being rewritten at the Prince’s Palace of Monaco. Hidden Renaissance frescoes, uncovered after more than a decade of meticulous restoration, were revealed during a symposium opened by Prince Albert II. The findings offer fresh insight into Monaco’s artistic and political heritage.

At the Stade Louis II, the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation hosted a global Water Safety Day, bringing together over 100 children from across the world. In the presence of Princess Charlene, the initiative focused on drowning prevention and raising awareness through hands-on workshops.

Monaco also strengthened its cooperation with European institutions, welcoming experts from the Council of Europe for a review of its national sports policy. The visit aimed to align the Principality with the latest standards under the European Sports Charter.

On the diplomatic stage, ties with Andorra were reinforced during a high-level visit marking 20 years of relations, while Monaco also celebrated two decades of diplomatic ties with Japan through a series of cultural and institutional events.

In the field of science and recognition, the Monte-Carlo Woman of the Year Award honoured Maria Blasco for her pioneering research into ageing and cellular biology, highlighting Monaco’s role in promoting scientific excellence.

Sport once again took centre stage at the Stade Louis II, where Singapore claimed victory at the prestigious Sainte Dévote Rugby Tournament. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene were on hand to present the trophies, underlining the event’s international importance.

Meanwhile, glamour returned to the Salle des Étoiles for the 70th Rose Ball, hosted under the direction of Princess Caroline of Hanover alongside Christian Louboutin. This year’s galaxy-themed edition brought together hundreds of guests for one of Monaco’s most iconic charity events.

Looking ahead, Monaco continues to position itself as a global hub for business and quality of life. At a conference held at the Méridien Beach Plaza, officials outlined the Principality’s attractiveness strategy, highlighting its stability, security, and diversified economy.

The government also reaffirmed its commitment to global humanitarian efforts, renewing its partnership with the International Institute of Humanitarian Law to support training programmes in international humanitarian law.

Cultural heritage was also in focus as the Museum of Stamps and Coins marked its 30th anniversary with a special exhibition inaugurated by Prince Albert II and Hereditary Prince Jacques.

And after six years of renovation, the Exotic Garden of Monaco has officially reopened, restoring one of the Principality’s most beloved landmarks in a ceremony attended by members of the Princely Family.

Finally, sport as a force for unity was highlighted with the launch of the White Card 2026 campaign by Peace and Sport at the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo, reinforcing Monaco’s commitment to peace, inclusion, and dialogue through sport.
