Fjord Line has reopened its fastest route between Norway and Denmark in time for the spring and summer seasons.
As the 2026 season starts, the company is bringing back the Fjord FSTR, one of the fastest and most fuel-efficient ferries in the world to run between Kristiansand and Hirtshals, as stated in a press release.
The ferry can carry 1,200 passengers and more than 400 cars, reaching speeds of up to 40 knots. This makes it a good choice for travellers who want to continue their European trip with their own car or a camper van.
The trip takes only 2 hours and 25 minutes, and since March 27th, the Fjord FSTR is running one trip each day.
FromJune 19th, during the high season, Fjord Line will offer four departures each way every day.
This service adds to the company’s regular routes from Bergen and Stavanger.
“The fact that Fjord FSTR is back on schedule is a sure sign of spring and marks the start of the summer season. Now travellers between Sørlandet and Jutland can choose exactly the option that suits them best,” said Commercial Director Kyrre Andresen at Fjord Line.
“Southern Norway and Kristiansand are the perfect starting point for experiencing Denmark and the continent.”
