A South Korean military helicopter deployed to extinguish a wildfire near the border mistakenly entered the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), although North Korea has not indicated any acknowledgment to the incident.

A spokesperson from Seoul’s Defense Ministry confirmed to NK News on Sunday that its Surion helicopter, initially dispatched to tackle the blaze in the front-line area of Yeoncheon on March 23, flew within the DMZ during the firefighting operation.
