Monaco achieved a valuable 2-1 victory over Marseille in their match on Sunday evening, concluding the 28th round of the French Football League.
Monaco took the lead with a goal from Russian Aleksandr Golovin in the 59th minute, before Florian Balogun doubled the advantage in the 74th minute.
Olympique Marseille pulled one back through Algerian Amine Gouiri, who scored his team’s only goal in the 85th minute. With this victory, Monaco secured their seventh consecutive win, bringing their points tally to 49 and placing them fifth, level on points with fourth-placed Marseille, who have a superior goal difference.
