Lidl Belgium plans to recruit more than 240 employees over the next 12 months as it intends to open six new stores annually.

These opportunities span various departments, including in-store roles, logistics, and specialised positions at the company’s headquarters.

One of the project involves the transformation of Lidl’s first-ever Belgian store, located in Anderlecht, a municipality in the Brussels-Capital region.

The site on Rue Pierre Marchant is being redeveloped into the largest Lidl supermarket in Belgium, spanning 1,741 square metres.

It is a mixed-use development that will also include 43 eco-friendly apartments, aiming to revitalise the area and generate approximately 20 new jobs by 2027.

    Recruitment Drive

As well as the flagship Anderlecht project, Lidl Belgium is planning to add 60 to 72 sales positions across its other 304 stores.

The discounter is also expanding its corporate and logistics teams.

It is hiring expansion managers, including lawyers, economists, and architects, to scout new store locations across Belgium.

For a new distribution centre opening in April 2027, approximately 140 technical and operational staff will be recruited starting in May 2026, the company noted.

Moreover, Lidl is investing in new graduates through its ‘Young Talent’ programme, offering 15 positions in 2026 across sales, logistics, and finance to fast-track candidates into management roles.

Lidl Belgium spokesperson, Isabelle Colbrandt, explained, “With more than 11,000 colleagues in Belgium, #teamlidl brings together a huge variety of talents and expertise.

“The vacancies opening up over the next 12 months reflect that diversity and offer opportunities for very different profiles – whether you are at the start of your career or want to take the next step in your professional growth.”
