Regional School Unit 16 (RSU 16) officials announced Monday morning that classes were canceled at the Poland Community School (PCS) because there was water damage in the building.In a Facebook post, RSU 16 officials described what happened at PCS as a “water event” and said it happened over the weekend.Officials said they were in the early stages of assessing the damage and beginning the cleanup process.Sixth-grade students at the school still attended the Ecology School as planned, but families needed to provide transportation and drop students off at their regular start time.RSU 16 officials said they would share more information with families in the school district later on Monday.PCS serves students in prekindergarten through sixth grade.RSU 16 serves the towns of Poland, Mechanic Falls and Minot.
