POLAND, Maine — RSU 16 canceled classes Monday at Poland Community School after a water-related incident over the weekend.
District officials said the school is in the early stages of assessing damage and beginning cleanup efforts following what they described as a “water event.”
Despite the closure, sixth grade students will still attend programming at The Ecology School as scheduled, according to the district. Families are responsible for providing transportation and should drop students off at their usual start time, officials said.
District officials said staff should review additional guidance sent by email and that more information would be released later in the day.
