Today is the anniversary of the liberation of Međimurje, so I am posting this photo to show what Croats went through in Međimurje during the Hungarian occupation. This is a photo from the Second World War, but we should not forget that also the revolutionary uprising of the people of Međimurje in 1918 was suppressed by the Hungarian gendarmes with cruel retaliation, executing over 100 men, women and children.
Not to be forgotten. 🇭🇷✌🏻
