The National Electoral Commission
(DVK) officially certified the final results of Slovenia’s
general election today after dismissing a formal complaint filed
by the Democratic Party (SDS). Slovenian news agency STA reports
that President Nataša Pirc Musar will convene the newly elected
National Assembly’s inaugural session on Friday.
The centre-left Freedom Movement, which was the ruling party
in the 2022-2026 term, won the most mandates in the 90-member
National Assembly on March 22, with 29 seats, followed by the
SDS with 28. The three-party centre-right alliance of New
Slovenia (NSi), Slovenian People’s Party (SLS), and Focus won
nine seats. The Social Democrats (SD) and Democrats led by
former SDS member Anže Logar won six seats each, while the joint
Left and Vesna list, as well as the anti-establishment Truth,
won five.
