During a public meeting in Harrisburg, Rep. Perry discussed energy cost policy reform and the importance of the U.S. gaining energy independence.
HARRISBURG, Pa. — U.S. Representative Scott Perry (R-10) spoke at event in Harrisburg on Tuesday, focusing on energy cost relief, policy reform and the importance of the U.S. gaining energy independence.
Rep. Perry voiced opposition to providing federal subsidies for solar and wind power and legislation that to develop hydropower as a viable renewable energy source. Speaking with FOX43, Rep. Perry shared that rapid rise in energy costs have negatively impacted consumers.
“Energy, just like everything else, the price of it goes up but it’s gone up very much faster than everything else and, of course, it affects everything,” Perry said. “That’s what I wanted to talk to these folks about. Who you elect is going to make a policy that is going to affect your affordability.”
The event was hosted by Americans for Prosperity. The nonprofit offered the first 100 attendees to $100 off their energy or gas bill.
