DARA, the Bulgarian representative for Eurovision 2026, met with Bulgarian diaspora organisations to get support for the contest.

With one month to go until the contest, the Bulgarian representative DARA is seeking support from Bulgarians living abroad. A meeting at the State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad took place recently, with the singer declaring:

“This contest is not just for me, it’s for our country. I would be very happy to feel their support.”

The State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad is cooperating with over a thousand organisations in 52 different countries. Its director, Rayna Mandzhukova declared that “Bangaranga” will be promoted among the Bulgarian diaspora around the world through different ways, such as Sunday schools, folklore groups or social media.

DARA will perform “Bangaranga” for Bulgaria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna. She will perform in slot 1 in the second semi-final on May 14.

Bulgaria in the Eurovision Song Contest+

At the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, 17-year-old Kristian Kostov finished in second place in the Grand Final. Bulgaria has qualified for the Grand Final five times out of thirteen attempts at the contest. Bulgaria debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, Ukraine in 2005. The country competed annually from 2005 to 2013, before withdrawing for two years due to financial issues. Since returning to the contest in 2016, Bulgaria qualified for the final in every contest they have competed in up until the 2022 contest.
