Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia held a meeting on April 8, 2026, at the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade with Karen Pierce, Special Envoy of the United Kingdom for the Western Balkans.
During their discussion, the two sides exchanged views on current developments both globally and across the Balkan region. They agreed that preserving stability and peace—through dialogue and cooperation—is essential and in the interest of all people.
Expressing his gratitude for the visit, Patriarch Porfirije emphasized that the Serbian Orthodox Church, remaining faithful to its evangelical mission, seeks to bear witness in today’s challenging and turbulent world to the values of peace, mutual understanding, and brotherly love among peoples and nations.
For her part, Karen Pierce thanked His Holiness for the warm reception and the opportunity for a meaningful exchange of views.
