POLAND, Maine (WGME) — Crews are working to clean and repair portions of Poland Community School after water damaged ceilings, walls, floors and equipment on two different stories.

RSU 16 leaders say the flooding began in a second-floor custodial closet mostly impacting the first floor directly below it.

The district says crews are drying and removing damaged materials and assessing damage.

The superintendent says it’s still not safe for students to return.
