During a strategic dialogue in Washington, North Macedonia and the US signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the purchase of US LNG. North Macedonia will also develop a one-stop shop system for US exports and investment.

The document envisages concrete steps for infrastructure development, improving transparency in gas markets, which opens up the possibility of using public and private financial instruments, including support from international financial institutions and export credit agencies.

The US also supports the mining of critical minerals, as the US International Development Finance Corporation awards 5 million dollars to restart antimony mining in North Macedonia.

The two countries also recognised the importance of open and transparent investment climates and policies, with strong legal frameworks, investment facilitation, and fair procedures to resolve disputes.

The United States welcomed the interest of North Macedonia to join the Three Seas Initiative, acknowledging its unique strategic position.
