German intelligence joins US FBI-led international action against Russian infiltration of routers

    The German domestic intelligence service Bundesamt fuer Verfassungsschutz (BfV) said it is supporting action by the US FBI and the security agencies of several other countries to tackle cyberattacks by APT28, a group with links to Russian military intelligence serviceĀ GRU. The group has infiltrated several thousand vulnerable TP-Link routers worldwide and the BfV says approximately 30 have been identified in Germany. The BfV is conducting forensic investigations of individual TP-Link devices to analyse APT2
