Prime Minister Robert Abela inaugurated two new hotels in Gozo during separate events, pointing to continued private investment aimed at strengthening the island’s tourism, a statement said.

During the visits, the Prime Minister, accompanied by Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri, inaugurated the Reef Hotel & Spa in Rabat and Hotel Ben in Marsalforn.

The statement said that both hotels are contributing to a quality, sustainable tourism offering focused on providing an authentic experience for visitors.

Hotel Ben in Marsalforn is affiliated with the Meliá Hotels International group and is further enhancing the locality’s tourism offer through a modern concept combining comfort, relaxation and accessibility, the statement said.

Meanwhile, the Reef Hotel & Spa, located in Rabat, Gozo, features around 110 rooms, wellness facilities and event spaces, it said.

During the visits, Abela said that Gozo plays an important role in the implementation of Malta Vision 2050, adding that the island offers distinctive characteristics increasingly sought after by tourists, including authenticity, tranquillity and its unique identity as an island of villages.

He said that government will continue to encourage sustainable tourism investment that generates year-round economic activity, supports local businesses and provides greater stability for workers in the sector.
