Japan headquartered JTEKT Corporation commissioned a 2 MW solar carport at its Kagawa facility in Japan. The project was delivered under a 20-year power purchase agreement with Peak Energy. The installation covers 640 parking spaces and was completed within 5 months. The system is expected to generate around 2,500 MWh annually. JTEKT anticipates nearly 40% electricity cost savings compared with grid power. The project is expected to avoid around 1,090 tons of CO₂ emissions annuallywhich is equivalent to removing 230 cars from the roadannually.Peak Energy designed, financed, installed and will operate the system under the long-term agreement.
