Is there an AI leader and/or tech CEO that is NOT a massive piece of shit? It’s like that’s a job prerequisite.

  2. Meh. The article cited a ton of folks and reported they said Sam couldn’t be trusted – but for an article that took over an hour to read, it had very little new information or ‘evidence’. Not to defend Sam, but the article was heavy on insinuation and light on proof.

  3. Just a reminder:

This dude is so slimy and two faced, he’s getting sued by Elon Musk…and most rational people are looking at the situation going “ya…MUSK got screwed.”

You know, the serial stock manipulating, lying, man-child, ketamine addicted Nazi. That Musk.

If you’re in court against THAT GUY and people are like “ehhhhh, we might have to go with the Nazi on this one….we don’t like it either….but that’s where we are….” You might just be a massive stain on the history of mankind.

you knew this guy was a huge piece of shit because he couldn’t wait to kiss Trump’s ass.

  5. All of these tech bros strike me as cast from the same mold: rich affluent families, growing up with no real friends, coddled as “special”when growing up, never experienced life outside of their well managed bubble, has absolutely no concept of empathy or what hardship is.

Any wonder why AI is so fucked up, it’s a reflection of them

With all this going on, anyone putting the odds on the attack on Altman’s home as a false flag?

They have no motivation to suddenly inject ethics into their products. None. I recently completed an AI and Data Science university sponsored, industry sponsored continuing education course. They spent all of five minutes on ethics in a six month course. I am beyond disgusted.

I find there are two types of founders like this.

A very, very few have an insight and see how they czn harness it in an honest and legit way to help people. These people are substantive and have often worked in jobs along the way building to this

But at least 98% simply get lucky and are in the right place at the right time. They become symbols, often either a great deal of wealth and power. But they don’t see a bigger picture – just advancing their baby. At the kindest, they simply don’t have a lot of insight. At the least end, they don’t care and will do anything.

Here’s a formula to tell them apart. The second type never had another big insight, whether it be technical, social, or otherwise. They’re just not that smart of deep.

The best example to me of #2 is someone like Zuckerberg. He blew $82 BILLION of shareholder money on a project that got cancelled with nothing to show from it. That’s like 10,000 programmers working for 8-10 years with absolutely nothing to show for it.

Meta’s success comes from an avoiding regulation or responsibility for their products. That’s what they do well.

    This second group

A reminder that all roads lead to Thiel who is the literal anti-Christ he lectures about.

  10. “…it’s more ambitious-sounding and also because OpenAI snookered Axios into taking it seriously.”

Axios wasn’t snookered into anything. They saw an article that would generate clicks and went with it, as always. Let’s not pretend like Axios is some bastion of journalistic integrity.

  11. The ladies on this podcast covered Sam Altman last month on their “This fucking guy!” series, and they are quite funny and do not hold back.

It’s well researched and surprisingly balanced. When they mention the sexual abuse allegations from Altman’s younger sister, they do mention her history of mental health issues as well.

Altman is still a douchebag however.

  12. He should have Melania Trump give a speech about it. It will all be instantly forgotten.

  13. Significant_Run_2607 on

reminds me of when a startup founder in SF tried to bury a bad profile in 2019 by announcing a shiny new roadmap the same week, and everyone just read the profile harder. the funny part with Altman is the distraction attempt is now part of the story, which is usually how you know the PR plan faceplanted. if the New Yorker piece is that damning, no product demo is going to outrun it

  14. How did Altman get to be this famous? Isn’t he just salesman? Why did people love him at his previous job when he got fired?
What makes him the AI messiah?

  15. This fucking dork is going to make us pay for his fraud crashing the fucking economy

Guy gets seemingly plucked out of obscurity by Peter Thiel…what could go wrong?
