The “Genocide in Kosovo – Open Wound” Center has expressed condolences to the American people and Albanians on the death of former Congressman Eliot Engel, describing the latter as a great friend, unwavering supporter, and powerful voice.
It is further added that Engel’s invaluable contribution to strengthening relations between the United States of America and Albanians, as well as his continued commitment to justice, peace, and the protection of human rights in the Balkans, will forever remain unforgettable.

It is with deep sadness that we received the news of the passing of US Congressman Eliot Engel.
In these moments of mourning, we express our most sincere condolences to the American people and especially the citizens of New York, which he represented for 16 consecutive terms from 1989-2021.
At the same time, we express our deepest condolences to all Albanians around the globe, who lost a great friend, a steadfast supporter, and a powerful voice in defense of their legitimate rights.
His invaluable contribution to strengthening relations between the United States of America and the Albanian people, as well as his continued commitment to justice, peace, and the protection of human rights in the Balkans, will forever remain unforgettable.
