Several Syrian civilians were injured Saturday after a hand grenade exploded in a neighborhood in Aleppo province in northern Syria, according to Syria AlIkhbaria TV

It reported that “a number of civilians were injured after a person threw a hand grenade into a vegetable market in Al-Sukkari neighborhood of Aleppo city.”

No immediate information was available about the fate of the perpetrator or the motive behind the attack.

Authorities have repeatedly announced the arrest of individuals in several provinces on suspicion of armed activity, incitement and affiliation with the ousted Assad regime.

The new Syrian administration is making intensive efforts to restore security and assert control as part of its plans to recover from the repercussions of the devastating civil war, rebuild the country and achieve stability and development.
