There’s some very exciting ice cream news doing the rounds right now – and if you’ve been on Instagram lately, you’ve probably already seen it. Iceland has just launched a miniature Viennetta-style ice cream on a stick, and the nostalgia levels are high!

It’s called a Vienna, and it comes in a pack of six for just £2. Yep, it’s affordable too! For anyone who grew up fighting over who got the biggest slice of Viennetta at family dinners, this feels like a full-circle moment. Only this time, it’s individual, mess-free and arguably even better.

The original Viennetta has always had that signature layered look, and this version stays true to that. Each stick features creamy vanilla ice cream with those iconic thin, crackly layers of milk chocolate running through the middle. It’s sweet, smooth and has that satisfying snap when you bite into it — exactly what you want from a nostalgic treat like this.

What makes it even better is how easy it is to eat. No slicing, no serving, no debates – just grab one straight from the freezer and go. It feels perfectly designed for warmer days ahead, whether you’re heading out for a picnic, sitting in the garden or just craving a quick dessert after dinner.

It’s also part of a wider trend we’re seeing, with classic, retro desserts being reinvented in more convenient, snackable formats. And judging by how quickly these are popping up on social feeds, it looks like shoppers are very much here for it.

The Vienna ice creams are available now in Iceland stores and online – and something tells us these won’t stay in stock for long.
