During his Paschal visit to Kosovo and Metohija, Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia held a joyful meeting with young scholarship recipients at the Visoki Dečani Monastery on Paschal Monday, April 13, 2026.

Following the Divine Liturgy, the Patriarch met with students from the region, emphasizing that Christ must remain at the center of life, noting that when He comes first, everything else falls into place. He reminded the youth that faith in Christ reveals humanity’s calling not to a temporary existence, but to eternal life with God.

The Patriarch also highlighted the legacy of benefactor Sime Igumanov, stressing the importance of selfless offering and the Church’s mission to distribute aid with love and justice to those in need.

On behalf of the students, a representative from Kosovska Mitrovica expressed gratitude for the Patriarch’s continued support and paternal care, underlining its importance for their education and future.

During the event, Patriarch Porfirije awarded one hundred scholarships from the Sime Igumanov Foundation to pupils and students residing in Kosovo and Metohija.

The gathering took place in a spirit of Paschal joy, with the Patriarch encouraging young people to always choose Christ, who reveals love as the true meaning of life.
