ECAC Announces Flag Football Player Awards for Week Ending April 12

DANBURY Conn.- The ECAC announces Flag Football Player Awards for the week ending on April 12. 

Offensive Player of the Week-

Cara Vollmer, Quarterback/Safety, Marymount, Jr (on the left)

Cara Vollmer fired on all cylinders over the weekend, leading to three ECAC wins. The junior quarterback fired 511 passing yards and rushed for 94 yards, ultimately accumulating 13 total touchdowns. She went 38-53 in the air, good for 71.7% completion, while averaging 127.8 yards per game.

Defensive Player of the Week-

Ava Martinez, Leftback/Wide Reciever, Wagner, Fr (on the right)

In Wagners one game for ECAC this week Ava Martinez lead the Seahawks defense to a shutout vs Centenary University which was a 39-0 victory. Ava was going sideline to sideline she had an amazing 20 Tackles , 2 PD’s and 9 flags for a loss, and stopped multiple (5) 4th down conversion attempts by the opponent. Which our offense on a short field. Just in 3 ECAC games Ava is averaging 13 tackles a game.
