Nicolae Țîbrigan explains in an editorial published in PRESShub why the defeat of Viktor Orbán is not only an electoral result, but a broader signal for the region. The central idea: populism does not disappear, but transforms – and when it is re-anchored in real problems (corruption, standard of living), it can even become a tool to challenge illiberal regimes. In parallel, the analysis shows the limits of influence and disinformation operations: they can create confusion and polarization, but they cannot infinitely replace socio-economic reality. Especially relevant for Romania and the Republic of Moldova, where the informational pressure is constant.
