On April 15, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received Deputy State Secretary of the Swiss Confederation and Head of the Eurasia Division of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Pierre-Yves Fux, APA reports.
During the meeting, the current state and prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Switzerland were discussed.
The sides reviewed issues of political dialogue, economic and trade relations, cooperation in energy, transport and other areas of mutual interest, as well as work carried out within international organizations and platforms and Switzerland’s plans as OSCE Chairperson-in-Office.
In addition, regional and international security issues were discussed, including the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period, Azerbaijan’s peace agenda, reconstruction and restoration efforts, as well as demining activities.
The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
On the same day, the next round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Switzerland was held. The consultations were led by Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev from the Azerbaijani side and Deputy State Secretary Pierre-Yves Fux from the Swiss side.
