Janet Steele, a professor of media and public affairs and international affairs at the George Washington University, has received a Fulbright Specialist Program award from the U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. Through the award, Steele will complete a project at the University of Belgrade in Serbia, focused on knowledge exchange and partnership-building through educational and training activities in political science.

The Fulbright Specialist Program supports more than 400 U.S. scholars and professionals each year in sharing expertise with institutions abroad. Recipients are selected for their academic achievement, leadership in their field and potential to foster long-term international collaboration.

This award marks Steele’s third Fullbright, with previous teaching and research grants taking her to Indonesia.
