Sun, sea and more than 200 vessels, including some of the world’s most luxurious yachts, have once again confirmed Central Dalmatia’s growing importance on the global nautical tourism map.
The third edition of the Dalmatia Boat Show has officially opened at Marina Baotić in Seget Donji, quickly establishing itself as a major regional event.
With an expanded line-up of exhibitors and a rich programme running until Sunday, 19 April, the show is expected to attract a wide range of visitors, from industry professionals to sailing enthusiasts.

In just three years, the event has grown significantly, with exhibitor numbers rising from 120 to 180. Organisers say the concept of an open-air, seaside boat show is key to its success.
“Traditional indoor winter fairs in Europe are stagnating, while those by the sea continue to grow. Boats belong on the water, not in exhibition halls,” said Željko Baotić, owner of Marina Baotić and founder of the show.

He added that the event has become more than just an exhibition, evolving into a key meeting point for the entire nautical sector – from manufacturers and service providers to charter companies and buyers.
Croatia among world leaders in nautical tourism
Croatia continues to rank among the world’s top nautical tourism destinations. According to official figures, the country boasts a fleet of 4,850 vessels, around 86,500 charter bookings annually, and approximately 590,000 nautical tourists generating 3.8 million overnight stays each year.

The sector is also a strong contributor to the economy, with 1,080 companies currently operating, including 181 new businesses launched last year alone. International interest remains high, with more than 51,000 foreign vessels visiting Croatian marinas in the past year.
Officials emphasised the importance of nautical tourism as a driver of economic growth, particularly in Split-Dalmatia County, which records the highest number of charter arrivals and overnight stays in the country.

The choice of Marina Baotić as the host venue is also significant, as it ranks among the busiest and best-equipped marinas in Croatia.
“Nautical tourists are among the first to arrive in the pre-season and among the last to leave in the post-season, making this segment crucial for extending the tourism calendar,” representatives noted.
Beyond its economic impact, the Dalmatia Boat Show is playing an increasingly important role in promoting the local area and strengthening cooperation across the tourism sector.

Local authorities highlighted its value in enhancing the visibility of Seget and contributing to the overall development of Central Dalmatia as a modern and competitive destination.
